July 3rd, 2010

Summertime is the time to go to the fair for some good old fashioned fun. Yep, the Christian County Fair in Taylorville is upon us from July 6 thru 11 and there is fun for all ages.

Fun, Food and Frolic

Farmers bring their purebred livestock to show and be judged, local growers of produce and flowers bring arrangements to show and be judged also. Miss Christian County competition will happen and a Queen will reign. There is a show featuring local talent. How about a Truck and Tractor Pull?

Hear and Feel the raw power of a tractor pull vehicle

There will also be a Demolition Derby, a Toy Tractor Pull for the kids and, for the kids of all ages, the Carnival Midway with rides, cotton candy, lemon shake-ups and corn dogs. Did I mention the sanctioned Chili Cookoff? Wow, what a weekful of events.

It is Christmas Eve and look at our tree!

December 24th, 2009

Yes, this is the main tree in the inn and for the past 5 years families have converged upon us from various points in the US and met at the Market Street Inn with their gifts and families and held their gift exchange in our front parlor. What fun they have and what fun we have along with them. Truly Christmas is one of the most wonderful times of the year. If the Grinch came in and stole all the gifts, our guests would realize that they have each other and in good health. Family is one of the real meanings of Christmas.
