Garlic Fest   2014         Where Garlic is King

Sunday, October 16, 2014 you should attend a wonderfully tasty, annual event called Garlic Fest.  Have you ever tasted wonderfully creamy garlic and anchovy laced Bagna Cauda?

This creamy garlic sauce is conveyed to the mouth by means of dipping chunks of Italian Bread, slices of bell pepper or leaves of cabbage and chewing.  Wow!  What a taste sensation!

The doors open at the Morrisonville, Illinois K of C Hall at 1 PM.  The Bagna Cauda begins being served at 1:30 PM.  After two hours of lapping up Bagna Cauda folks begin lining up for the meal which is served beginning at 3:30 PM.  The meal consists of homemade Garlic Sausage, Mostaccioli, Garlic Bread and Slaw.  Also beginning at 3:30 is music by “The Music Men” who will play until 7:30 PM.

Tickets are $12.00 at the door and that gets you a seat and food.  There is a cash bar where you may purchase beverages to wash down all this wonderful garlicky food.

Come in of Friday night and take in the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and other Lincoln Sites in nearby Springfield, IL.  Bring your bicycle and ride the Lincoln Prairie Bicycle Trail just 6 blocks from our front door, dine at a variety of tasty nearby restaurants, start your day with a great breakfast in our dining room at fireside and candlelight and then top the weekend off by going to Garlic Fest.
