ABOUT OUR HISTORIC INN: established 1994, Market Street Inn Bed & Breakfast, 220 East Market Street, Taylorville IL 62568. This premiere Victorian property is a George Franklin Barber design number 143, built in 1892, with 7,100 square feet on 3 levels. In 1993 this property was acquired by Joe & Myrna Hauser when they returned to their hometown to create a bed & breakfast. After 3 decades, the Hauser’s have decided to downsize / semi-retire and offer just 2 rooms in the carriage house.

CARRIAGE HOUSE: 220 South Pawnee Street was acquired in 2003 to add 2 more suites to the B&B. Again extensive restoration and renovation made possible 2 more high-end suites for guests to experience and enjoy a stay in what was once for the horses and carriage. Today modern amenities include fiber optic wi-fi, Roku TV, air conditioning, jetted tub and so forth.
HUNT CLUB suite in carriage house (pictured above) is one of our most popular suites—available year-round, two night minimum, private entrance with keyless entry, over 500 sq ft. Amenities include king bed, ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower & double jetted tub, kitchenette, 2 fireplaces (and central heat), private patio, off-street parking and other welcoming features. Fiber optic Wi-fi and smart TV.
HELEN’S SUITE is ADA approved and has 450 sq ft of space in 2 rooms plus over-sized ADA approved bathroom. A full KITCHEN was added in the spring of 2023. Private entrance with keyless lock, patio with grill and assigned off-street parking makes this unit ideal for long term occupancy, especially traveling medical workers, e.g. nurses coming to area hospitals.
