Yep, the inn just had a birthday on June 24, 2018 and became 24 years old. For us the memories begin to flow– memories about guests over the years.
Keepers of small, intimate inns such as ours, provides owners with the opportunity to remember some of our guests and what they like to eat and where they like to visit when staying with us and a whole lot more. We think that all of our guests have been famous, although some are more famous than others. We have hosted stars of stage, screen and TV, musical performers and captains of industry and finance.
In addition to our fine inn being a romantic getaway where one may enjoy the anonymity of our small community, the opportunity to cocoon in one’s room (most of ours have a whirlpool tub for two and a fireplace), there is the nearby Taylorville Lake Shore Golf Course, the Lincoln Prairie Bike Trail, fishing at Lake Taylorville and Sangchris Lakes or Lake Shelbyville and more. If you just want to laze around, you may wish to enjoy our wraparound porch with a good book and a cool liquid refreshment.
All that being said, we are but 20 minutes from a couple of wineries, Arpeggio Winery and Walnut Street Winery and about 28 minutes from two larger cities.
